2019 Federal Policy Briefing Highlights

The 2019 Federal Policy Briefing was held February 26-27, 2019 in Washington, DC. This biennial convening gave over 200 EGA members a chance to ground ourselves in the lay of the land as a new Congress deliberated and acted on passing a groundbreaking public lands package.

The briefing was an opportunity for funders to strategize on the future of policy, and learn about efforts to continue to build power to make progress on our shared priorities in the coming years. This year, we heard from a diverse range of organizers, thought leaders, and funders on our main stage. We also had a special Session and Reception on the Hill, which featured panel conversations with members of Congress representing both political parties, who shared their work on environmental initiatives.

With democracy and freedom of the press in mind, EGA members considered the future surrounding climate, public lands, agriculture, infrastructure, water, and our communities, among other priorities.
