Director of Communications

Wallace Global Fund

The Wallace Global Fund seeks a dynamic professional to serve as Director of Communications. A private grantmaking foundation based in Washington, DC, the Fund is guided by the progressive vision of Henry A. Wallace, who served as Vice President under President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Director of Communications will deploy media relations, issue framing, branding, storytelling, social media outreach, and rapid communications response/tactics toward the most urgent challenges of our time: the global climate crisis, excessive corporate power, assaults on women’s rights, and mounting threats to the health of our democracy. This new role is focused on generating widespread awareness, endorsement and support for WGF’s approach to issues, its programs and the Fund’s outstanding partners around the globe. This position will report directly to the Executive Director and will support all of the organization’s internal and external communications needs. The Director will develop and execute communications strategies that amplify WGF’s priorities within philanthropy and among change makers in the U.S. and globally. This senior position requires superb writing skills and the ability to create compelling content and messages and disseminate them through traditional and new media. The Director will champion and drive the Fund’s signature initiatives – notably the Henry A. Wallace Award program – that help to lift up the work of the Fund’s grantees and partners. The attached job description provides further detail on this exciting opportunity to join a high-energy team. For more information about the Fund, visit www.wgf.org.
