Enhancing the Field

EGA works with its members and partners to promote effective environmental philanthropy by sharing knowledge, fostering debate, cultivating leadership, facilitating collaboration, and catalyzing action.

This work is accomplished through two main avenues: Membership Services and Enhancing the Field programming.

The Enhancing the Field program encompasses both the goal of increasing knowledge about environmental issues within broader philanthropy and serving to inform and encourage members on issues of inclusivity; diversity; and, green practices in the workplace and beyond.

  • Green Practices and Co-op (Resources to enable the transition to sustainable consumption and production. EGA Green Co-op; Green Beyond Grants: A Toolkit for Greening Foundation Operations.)
  • Inclusive Practices (Resources to ensure greater diversity within the EGA membership; to increase the number of members who intentionally incorporate inclusive practices into their work; and, to promote greater awareness of the relationship between increased diversity and inclusion with effective environmental grantmaking. Inclusive Practices and Diversity; D5 and other resources)
  • Tracking the Field (TTF provides statistical information about trends in environmental philanthropy as well as in-depth issue specific data and analysis for membership.)
