Taskforces and working groups
EGA forms taskforces, committees, and working groups as needed to address our strategic issue priorities, programs, and member needs. Please contact us if you are interested in setting something up to more effectively pursue your philanthropic goals with like-minded colleagues.
A fantastic way to engage with EGA and colleagues is through one of our event program committees. We are regularly seeking energetic volunteers to serve the community and assist with our Fall Retreat, Federal Policy Briefing, State of the States Policy Briefing, or other events throughout the year. Please contact Adam Harms at email@example.com if you are interested in being a part of any of EGA's committees or taskforces.
In August 2014, EGA partnered with the Pisces and George B. Storer Foundations to launch the Blue Sky Funders Forum. Blue Sky brings foundations and corporations together in partnership with nonprofit and government leaders to strengthen the field of environmental education, resulting in more sustainable ecosystems, stronger economies, and healthy and vibrant communities for all.
Blue Sky is a working group of the Environmental Grantmakers Association, established to advance environmental education and facilitate collaboration among funders. This strategic partnership between EGA and Blue Sky provides more environmental education programming to the larger environmental grantmaking community. In addition, Blue Sky is expanding the conversation about environmental education, reaching beyond environmental grantmakers to include education, civic engagement, and health funders.
We are also proud to have incubated and hosted these Working Groups that eventually spun off as fellow funder affinity groups:
- The Funders Workgroup for Sustainable Production and Consumption (The Sustainability Funders) spun off from EGA in early 2010.
- The Funders Network on Transforming the Global Economy (formerly the Funders Network on Trade and Globalization) spun off from EGA in the summer of 2008.
- The Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Funders working group spun off from EGA in late 2005.
