Working Groups

EGA supports members in creating working groups and committees to strategize and share knowledge on a variety of topics in grantmaking. We set the table to support you in more effectively pursuing your philanthropic goals with colleagues.

We also offer EGA members the opportunity to connect with their colleagues by participating in our event program committees. We are regularly seeking energetic volunteers to serve the community and assist with our Fall Retreat, Policy Briefings, and other events throughout the year.

If you are interested in setting up a working group or participating in an EGA event committee, please contact Jaynell Nicholson, EGA Engagement and Events Manager.

EGA Working Group: The Blue Sky Funders Forum

In August 2014, EGA partnered with the Pisces and George B. Storer Foundations to launch the Blue Sky Funders Forum. Blue Sky brings foundations and corporations together in partnership with nonprofit and government leaders to strengthen the field of environmental education, resulting in more sustainable ecosystems, stronger economies, and healthy and vibrant communities for all.

Blue Sky is a working group of the Environmental Grantmakers Association, established to advance environmental education and facilitate collaboration among grantmakers. This strategic partnership between EGA and Blue Sky provides more environmental education programming to the larger environmental grantmaking community. In addition, Blue Sky is expanding the conversation about environmental education, to include civic engagement, and health funders.

Visit the Blue Sky Funders Forum website to learn more.

We are also proud to have incubated and hosted these Working Groups that eventually spun off as fellow funder affinity groups:

  • The Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Funders working group spun off from EGA in late 2005.
  • Edge Funders Alliance, formed from a merger of Grantmakers without Borders and The Funders Network on Transforming the Global Economy (formerly the Funders Network on Trade and Globalization), which spun off from EGA in the summer of 2008.
  • The Funders Workgroup for Sustainable Production and Consumption (The Sustainability Funders) spun off from EGA in early 2010.
